Heyes Lane Junior School

Key Information

History of the School

Heyes Lane School was first opened in 1951 as an infant school with four classes. Shortly afterwards another building was added for the infants and the original building became the junior school. The schools have separate halls and playgrounds, but share a large dining hall, kitchen and extensive grounds. In 1990 part of the original accommodation was replaced with a new classroom block. January 2005 saw the opening of four new classrooms and a group room. The new block has replaced the mobiles and old aluminium classrooms.

The Heyes Lane Schools work in close partnership. At the age of seven the children automatically transfer from the infant to the junior school. At the age of eleven we support their transition to secondary education.
