World War Two Garden Competition - 11 October 2008
Outdoor Classroom Fundraiser! - 07 October 2008
From Monday 13th to Friday 17th October pupils and staff will be attempting five laps of a challenging obstacle course to raise money towards the construction of our outdoor classroom. If you haven't received a sponsorship form, please go to the 'Letters' section of this website and download one from there.
Year 5 Visit to Altrincham College of Art - 07 October 2008
The Year 5 children have been casting a critical eye over the paintings in the Art Gallery at Altrincham College of Arts this week. Mrs Sproston is hoping that they will be inspired to produce some fabulous work on their return!
Ukulele Club starts on Monday 22nd September - 21 September 2008
Open to all interested members of Year 6, the after-school Ukulele Club starts this Monday. It takes place from 3.45pm(chance to have a biscuit and a drink to warm up our vocal chords!) and finishes at 4.30 pm. I am looking forward to having some great singing and playing sessions. Heyes Lane supports Francis House Hospice - 18 September 2008
The children have been buying keyrings to support Francis House Childrens Hospice. The keyrings are on sale in the office for a suggested donation of £1 and are selling out fast. Every year we sell items to support Francis House and last year we raised over £500.
Back to the Blitz - 16 September 2008
The school had a wartime feeling this week as our Year 6 Children arrived in 1940's costume ready to visit the Stockport Air Raid Shelters as part of their World War 2 project.
Year 5 River Investigations - 12 September 2008
Our Year 5 children donned their wellies and waterproofs this week when they visited Vernon Park in Stockport to investigate the River Goyt and its features.
Hindu Temple Trip - 12 September 2008
The lower school children visited the Hindu Temple in Preston this week as part of their RE curriculum.
Fiddling for fun! - 11 September 2008
The hall was alive with the sound of music this morning as our Year 3 children started their violin lessons. In partnership with Trafford Council Music Service all the year children will learn the instrument this term and perform in a special concert for parents/carers to celebrate their learning success!
The 'Royle' Standard - 05 September 2008
Mrs Royle announced a new school award for cleanliness and tidiness today. The 'Royle' Standard is a flag which will be awarded each week to the tidiest place in school. Mrs Sproston and her class were the first winners!
Welcome back! - 02 September 2008
The new school year started today and Heyes Lane Junior School says a special welcome to our new Year 3 children and their families!
